Field Electrical & Service Engineer

Location: Greater Cincinnati, KY area (Erlanger) + field-based travel (~30–40%)

Position Summary

This full-time role combines electrical and control system expertise with hands-on field service responsibilities. You will troubleshoot technical issues, conduct in-field maintenance, and deliver both on-site and remote support for automated printing equipment. The position combines work at the Erlanger technical office with travel to customer sites across North America and occasional international travel for training or collaboration with the engineering team at corporate headquarters. Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration are essential to ensure equipment reliability, operational efficiency, and high customer satisfaction.

Roles and Responsibilities

Project Coordination: Interface with clients and contractors to plan, schedule, and execute project activities.

On-Site Activities: Test, maintain, and repair electrical systems, components, and automated machinery, while providing daily support to both the internal parts department and customers.

Field Service & Technical Support: Install, debug, and start-up printing machines; perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs; provide on-site assistance and training to customer operators, maintenance teams, and technicians for installations, troubleshooting, and system issues.

Electrical / Engineering Duties: Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, PLC/HMI code, and control panel layouts; troubleshoot control systems including PLCs, HMIs, servo drives, sensors, and industrial networks; support retrofit projects and engineering upgrades.

Problem-Solving: Diagnose and resolve complex technical problems related to electrical, control, and mechanical systems.

Documentation: Prepare technical reports, service records, and recommended solutions.

Safety Enforcement: Ensure adherence to safety protocols both in-house and at customer sites.

Communication: Clearly convey technical information, project updates, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical personnel.

Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent field service experience in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, or a related field — preferred but not required.

Background in electrical engineering with exposure to machinery installation, maintenance, or industrial automation preferred.

Familiarity with high-speed printing machinery for plastic or glass containers is a plus.

Knowledge of industrial electrical systems including electro-mechanical, PLCs, VME, PC, servo drives, sensors, and control circuits.

Proficiency in reading electrical schematics, PLC logic, and control panel layouts; knowledge of remote diagnostics, industrial networking, and data logging.

Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical abilities.

Strong teamwork, communication, and customer service skills.

Ability to travel throughout North America with occasional international travel as needed.

Valid driver’s license and valid passport required.

Ability to work independently in fast-paced, field-based environments and adapt to changing technologies.
