Facilities Manager – Personal Care Products Manufacturing
Location: Bedford Park, IL (On-site)
Compensation: $140,000–$160,000 base + bonus

Overview

A century-old, family-owned personal care products manufacturer is adding a Facilities Manager to take full ownership of facility systems and infrastructure at a large, automated production campus in the Bedford Park area. This is a newly created position built to bring dedicated engineering leadership to a complex facility that has outgrown a generalist approach.

The operation produces shampoo, lotion, conditioner, and a broad range of personal care products at scale. The company is specifically looking for someone who comes from a manufacturing environment and understands how large industrial facilities operate from the inside.

What the Job Involves

· Oversee all facility functions including HVAC, boilers, stationary engineering, building maintenance, and related systems

· Manage on-site contractors across multiple trades including electrical and civil work, ensuring all projects meet facility standards, timelines, and safety requirements

· Manage on-site wastewater treatment systems and ensure ongoing regulatory compliance

· Develop and oversee capital project budgets, scopes, and schedules for infrastructure upgrades and facility improvements

· Ensure adherence to applicable codes, OSHA requirements, and safety standards throughout the facility

· Identify facility improvement opportunities and lead implementation from concept through completion

What They Need

· BS/BA degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field preferred or an equivalent combination of maintenance certifications and 5+ years of facilities management leadership in a manufacturing setting

· 7+ years of plant or facilities management experience in a manufacturing environment required

· Must come from manufacturing

· Hands-on experience with facility systems including HVAC, boilers, and electrical distribution

· Proven track record managing contractors across multiple trades simultaneously

· Strong project management skills including budgeting, scheduling, and contractor coordination

· Stationary Engineer license preferred

· Strong communicator who can work across departments and with diverse teams
