EHS Manager – Multi-Site Food Production

Overview

A growing ready-to-eat food manufacturer with five production sites is bringing on a dedicated safety leader to build a centralized EHS function from the ground up. This is a newly created role with direct access to the executive team and full ownership of safety program development across the organization.

Responsibilities

· Design and roll out a unified safety program across four ready-to-eat food manufacturing facilities

· Lead investigations into incidents and near misses, identify root causes, and drive corrective actions to completion

· Own the workers’ compensation program including claims management and return-to-work coordination

· Conduct audits, training sessions, and compliance inspections across all sites

· Maintain OSHA compliance across key areas including LOTO, machine guarding, confined space, and egress

· Build out near-miss reporting systems and ensure follow-through on all open items

· Manage PPE programs and standardize availability and usage across locations

· Support environmental compliance as part of the broader EHS scope

· Report safety and environmental metrics directly to the executive team

Requirements

· BS/BA degree in Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field

· 3–5+ years of EHS or safety experience inside a manufacturing environment; food or CPG is required

· Multi-site exposure is a strong plus

· Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred

· Solid foundation in OSHA compliance within a plant setting

· Proven experience building or restructuring safety programs

· Workers’ comp management background with measurable results

· Willing and able to travel up to 50% across facilities in CA, IL, and NJ

· OSHA, CSP or CIH certification is a plus

· MS Office proficiency; ERP familiarity helpful
